All the tools you need for your operations far away from the coastline

Effer provides marine cranes for many different offshore applications. Our machines are designed, made and certified to resist under typical hard working conditions in the offshore environment (wear and tear, saline fog, extreme temperatures…)

Our marine cranes for the offshore sector are suitable both for basic operations, and for the most sophisticated uses on vessels, platforms, ships etc.
Offshore applications can apply to safeguarding, drill ships, military uses, dredgers, tankers, oil & gas field, and many more: in Effer we have staff dedicated to collecting and satisfying all client’s needs concerning crane features and certifications, so enabling us to provide the right tools for working easily and in safety.

A tool commonly used in offshore-cranes applications is the winch, which has important functions for lifting and moving both loads and people.
Effer has 3 kinds of special winches:

CONSTANT TENSION (CT)
Thanks to this special function, the operator can lift and drop loads maintaining exactly the same speed, regardless of the layers of rope remaining on the cylinder. This means even less experienced operators are able to handle loads with greater sensitivity and uniformity of movement guaranteeing safety and efficiency.

PASSIVE HEAVE COMPENSATED (PHC)
This function beats wave heave, automatically following wave movement by rewinding or letting out the winch rope. Sensitive loads are thus protected from any rising up or slamming down out of control, which can be caused by incorrect rope tension and slack. This technology can also be applied to ship-to-ship working thus ensuring maximum protection of the load.

ACTIVE HEAVE COMPENSATED (AHC)
With loads suspended and immersed in the sea any ship movement due to wave action is automatically compensated by rewinding and letting out the winch rope. The main advantage is for robotic and seabed inspection uses because this function is able to maintain a constant distance from the seabed or between one ship and another thanks to its electronic control system.

Moreover, Effer can provide the man riding function with the related certified winch for the toughest personnel lifting requirements in the marine sector.
